JOB DESCRIPTION

The Oncology Translational Research Group opens a fully-funded Advanced Technician position until December 2026, to work with 3D-tissue culture for disease modeling and precision medicine.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design, perform, develop, adapt and implement experimental protocols and new research techniques.
  • Maintain detailed experimental records and documentation, and analyze results in collaboration with the Principal Investigator and the Scientific Coordinator.
  • Participate in the preparation of scientific publications and presentations.
  • Meet regularly with the Principal Investigator / Scientific Coordinator to discuss research progress and future plans.
  • Train and support new group members and, where applicable, provide mentorship.
  • Process human tumor samples, perform molecular assays and general cell biology techniques, support organoid maintenance, and process and analyze experimental data.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCIE

  • Candidates must have a degree in biomedical sciences and life science or equivalent experience; a Ph.D. in life science is highly valuable.
  • Extensive cell culture experience is a prerequisite. Background in in vivo models is a plus.
  • Expertise in microscopy, cell and molecular techniques such as PCR, qPCR, cytometry and CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing, and western blotting are strongly preferred.
  • Candidate must have demonstrated aptitude to perform experimental protocols and procedures. Excellent communication skills and Fluent English are required.
  • Scientific productivity will be highly valued.
  • The position further requires excellent organizational capacity, outstanding troubleshooting skills, and strong team working skills.

  • Gross annual salary will be determined according to the candidate's experience and qualifications and will be paid in 12 monthly instalments.
